Sauze d ’Oulx is a town in the province of Turin, in Piedmont. It is located at 1503 m in the upper Susa Valley. It consists of an ancient village typically in Alpine style, and a new part, where hotels and holiday homes are located.
Sportinia (2137 m), on Mount Triplex, is the intermediate station: several slopes and lifts start from here. One of them, called Rocce Nere (Black Rocks), is a fantastic observation point in the Alps.
Sauze d ’Oulx is a very popular tourist resort in Italy, both for sport and for fun.
In fact, together with Sestriere, Pragelato, Cesana, Claviere, Sansicario and Montgenevre, it is part of the Via Lattea (Milky Way): the famous ski area with 400 km of slopes that can all be covered with skis on. The particularity of Sauze is its position, thanks to which it enjoys a fantastic exposure to the sun.
The slopes are mostly red, therefore suitable for medium-high level skiers, but obviously beginners and children also find space: there are many ski and snowboard schools. There are also two tapis roulant in Sportinia to facilitate the climb for everyone.
The second reason why Sauze is so famous is the fun: there are many clubs and restaurants to spend the evening hours and shops for shopping, as well as numerous SPA for relaxing moments.
Among other interesting activities, there is the possibility of taking a helicopter tour. Or there are numerous winter walking paths with “snowshoes”, both around Sauze and inside the Gran Bosco di Salbertrand natural park.
Sauze d ’Oulx is about 100 km from Turin airport (1 hour and 15 minutes drive), take the A32 motorway to Oulx, then from here in 10 minutes you will arrive at your destination.
